LAORA & Our Community Leaders

LAORA works closely with community leaders to save lives every day through our continued partnerships with teachers, faith leaders and community leaders to increase education about organ donation and save more lives.

Donation and transplant professionals join faith communities to focus on the lifesaving and enhancing gifts passed to others through organ, tissue and eye donation. Faith leaders, donor families, transplant recipients, live donors and general volunteers participate in services and programs to increase awareness of donation and transplantation. Those who donate heal and strengthen not just their recipients, but families, friends and the larger community.

LAORA is committed to ensuring that students, families and teachers have diverse, factual resources regarding organ and tissue donation.

We are dedicated to raising awareness and providing education on donation by providing free presentations throughout South Florida.

Teachers, faith leaders and community leaders can request free presentations about donation and transplantation, presented by LAORA staff. Presentations are subject to the availability of speakers. Contact laorainfo@med.miami.edu to schedule a presentation or request educational materials.
